Midland Area Community Foundation and Long-Term Recovery Group to explore developments in flood recovery and the impact on the region

In conjunction with the Long-Term Recovery Group, Midland Area Community Foundation will be exploring the next steps of flood recovery during the June 10, 2021 Flood Recovery Session via Zoom at 10:30 AM.

“It’s our goal to provide background and clarity for the support systems in place to assist our region throughout flood recovery,” said Alysia Christy, member of the Long-Term Recovery Group and Director of Community Impact for the Midland Area Community Foundation. “It’s our goal to provide the community with an overview of how FEMA’s recent grant of $2million+ will impact recovery efforts.”

Presenters for June’s session are Nancy Money, Raegan Schultz, and Katie Vokal from the Long-Term Recovery Group. The session will cover where we are going, plans for the future, and how the flood impacts our region.

“There are ongoing infrastructure needs in case management, construction management, and volunteer coordination,” said Christy. “Funds from FEMA will impact all of these areas of flood recovery in different ways.”

Flood Recovery Sessions are open to everyone. Attendees are required to register for sessions at www.midlandfoundation.org/zoomintoflood. Sessions are held monthly on the second Thursday of the month. Sessions are recorded for on-demand viewing on the Community Foundation’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend.
